The Open Policy Finder (formerly known as Sherpa Romeo): A platform that provides information about publisher open access policies. It aggregates and analyzes these policies from around the world, offering summaries of copyright and self-archiving permissions on a journal-by-journal basis. Researchers often find it helpful to consult while deciding which journal to publish in.

DOAJ: Highlighted at the conclusion of the video above, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) serves as a global index for open access journals. Every journal included in DOAJ is fully open access, meaning none of their articles are distributed via traditional subscription models. It is a handy tool for exploring open access journals and articles. A particularly valuable feature for researchers is the information on article processing charges (APC) associated with publishing in each journal.
DOAB: Similar to DOAJ, the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a global index for OA books. DOAB is a newer platform compared to DOAJ. Established in 2012, the primary aim of DOAB is to increase discoverability of open access books. The trend of publishing OA books is also on the rise, with several global funders also considering adding it to their mandates.
RGC Publication Gateway: As mentioned in the introduction tab, the RGC Publication Gateway serves as a centralised database for accessing metadata and information about refereed journal articles resulting from RGC-funded research projects. The gateway includes details such as project titles, principal investigators, and links to the articles, making it easier for researchers and the public to discover and access scholarly work.
You are also encouraged to browse Open Access resources in our library to gain a better understanding of how they look like in practice. The instructions on searching and filtering on the library catalogue is detailed in this library guide. Our A-Z Database page also introduces various databases focusing on Open Access materials:
